Biography

A native of Barberton, Karla Tipton earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Kent State University. After graduation, she moved to the Mojave Desert in California, working at the Antelope Valley Press as a staff reporter and editor for 14 years, where she specialized in arts and entertainment reporting, as well as feature and historical writing. In mid-career, she transitioned to the information technology field, and has worked as a web developer and software tester.

Karla is the author of two time travel romantic fantasy novels, one of which was a finalist in the Fantasy category of the 2015 National Indie Excellence Awards. In 2016, she left the hot desert to return to family and friends in her hometown, where she is happy to experience all four seasons. At the moment, Karla keeps busy writing, working in the IT field, playing rock guitar, photographing urban settings, and enjoying the Northeastern Ohio arts and music scene.
